DAWN  TO  DUSK

This 14-minute ballet is a collaboration between choreographer John Castagna of The Ballet Collective and composer Mark Mercury.

When fully realized on stage, images on a rear screen and lighting will take us from sunrise to sunset as the story unfolds, which tells of young love, peer pressure, eventual betrayal, and, ultimately, self-realization. At various points throughout the ballet we hear the sounds of birds, which, in a way, are commenting on the action.

The original score is a blend of electronic sounds, orchestral timbres, and sound effects. Traditional musical harmonies, melodies, and techniques were used.
